In 1997, Luigi Tellini patented, in Italy and the USA, an innovative cardiac pacemaker entitled: "Artificial cardiac pacemaker which emits stimuli locked to the electric impulse of the natural cardiac pacemaker" (US Patent 5,607,456). The synchronization mechanism was based on phase-locked loop (PLL), an innovative technology in this sector, never used in pacemakers but already used in satellite communications and the most advanced communication and synchronization systems. He published, in collaboration, in the journal KAOS, a study of visual simulation of atrial fibrillation using the cellular automata technique. He has studied cardiac parasystole in depth and produced models of this arrhythmia. By mental attitude, he always thinks that, for everything, one could do better. For some years he has been working on improving the use of the butterfly needle, a fundamental device in medical practice.
